Introduction

Welcome to Christianity 101

If you're reading this, you might be:

  • Curious about what Christians actually believe,

  • Exploring faith for the first time,

  • New to following Jesus and wanting to understand the basics, or

  • Looking for clarity on questions you've had for a while.

Wherever you are in your journey, you're in the right place.

What is Christianity 101?

This is a 6-week guide designed to walk you through the core truths of the Christian faith in a clear, conversational way.

We're not going to assume you know all the "church words" or have read the Bible cover to cover. We're starting from the ground up, focusing on the essentials:

  • Who is God?

  • Who is Jesus, and why does He matter?

  • What is the Bible, and can we trust it?

  • What does it mean to have a personal relationship with God?

  • How can I know for sure that I'm going to heaven?

These aren't just abstract ideas—they're life-changing truths that have transformed millions of people across history and around the world.

What You'll Learn

Over the next six weeks, we'll cover:

  • Week 1: The Bible and a Personal Relationship with God

  • Week 2: Who is Jesus Christ and Why is He Unique?

  • Week 3: Did Jesus Really Rise from the Dead?

  • Week 4: What is Sin and Why Do I Need a Savior?

  • Week 5: How Do I Become a Christian?

  • Week 6: How Can I Be Sure I'm Going to Heaven?

Each week includes:

  • Clear explanations of what the Bible teaches

  • Key Scripture passages to read and reflect on

  • Practical takeaways you can apply to your life

  • FAQ sections to address common questions and doubts

Our Goals for You

By the end of this guide, our hope is that you will:

  1. Understand the core message of Christianity, what it is, why it matters, and how it's different from other belief systems.

  2. Know how to have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

  3. Be able to explain your faith to others with clarity and confidence.

  4. Have answers to common questions people ask about God, Jesus, the Bible, and salvation.

  5. Feel equipped and encouraged to take your next steps in following Jesus.

How to Use This Guide

This guide works best when you:

  • Read thoughtfully. Don't rush. Take time to think about what you're reading.

  • Look up the Scriptures. The Bible verses aren't just decoration they're the foundation. Open your Bible (or use a Bible app) and read them in context.

  • Ask questions. If something doesn't make sense, write it down. Talk to a friend, a mentor, or a small group leader. God isn't afraid of your questions.

  • Discuss with others. This material is great for one-on-one conversations or small groups. Learning together makes it richer.

  • Pray. Ask God to help you understand and to open your heart to what He wants to show you.

A Word of Encouragement

If you're feeling uncertain, skeptical, or even a little nervous that's okay.

Faith isn't about having all the answers right away. It's about being honest with your questions and willing to explore the truth.

Jesus said:

"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you."
— Matthew 7:7

God honors sincere seekers. If you're willing to ask, seek, and knock, He promises you'll find what you're looking for.

So let's get started.
